February Doll purchases part 1.

So as I love fashion so much, I usually spend way too much on it. Recently I’ve been coming home with something(s) new every single day, which I know for a fact is not normal and I do need to stop doing it as I have way too many clothes already. Just kidding, you can never have enough clothes. Ever.
With that in mind, I thought I’d do a little post on a few things that I’ve bought over the last month or so. I will do some more, but I’m still waiting for a few things to arrive so they will feature in my next post. I’m also waiting for the sun to come up, as the lighting in my house at the moment is not great.

Bralet: Topshop £25
So to start us off, I ordered this cute bralet earlier this week. It’s white/cream and is decorated with lace. The lace is the same colour but it forms various patterns which just makes it look a bit more exciting. I already own a black version, which I absolutely adore. It’s always my go-to item if I don’t know what to wear on a night out. Naturally I spotted this one and was like “Ooh it’s got a twin” and ordered it straight away. It’s been very popular; there were only two remaining sizes left when I ordered it (8 and 14). I’d normally take a size 10/12 but those sizes weren’t available and I was desperate for the bralet so I ordered an 8. My black one is a size 10 from Topshop’s Petite range. The White one however was a regular Topshop product, and with only two sizes left I ordered a size 8 thinking that it would be bigger as it was an average product. It arrived two days later, but when I tried it on, I couldn’t even get it on! It was absolutely tiny, it honestly looked like a size 0. I had a look on the website and found that everyone agreed that it came up way to small. Really don’t know what measurements they were using when they made this but they need to double check their tape measures! I had to take into my actual Topshop store today and get it exchanged. Again, most of the sizes had sold out, but I managed to pick up a 14. I tried it on, and this was a much better fit: I could actually get it on this time which was great and it fit the way my other one fits. It shows done cleavage, but it doesn’t show everything or (when you get the right size) squeeze you into it and make you look like an overstuffed sausage. Overall it’s very pretty and surprisingly comfy, but just be warned of the sizing!

Dress: Topshop (Petite) £36
Secondly, we have this gorgeous dress. It’s a lovely powder pink colour, decorated with black lace to give a bodice like appearance. It has very tiny and flimsy black straps, so a strapless bra would be a good idea with this dress. I bought this because I thought it would be good for nights out as it has a very fancy feel to it and can also be worn to posh restaurants and such. This dress accentuates curves perfectly as it has a body con like shape to it. The only thing I would say is that these sorts of dresses can come up quite short, as in you could potentially flash people. Therefore I would definitely advise that you try it on before you buy. It is easy to wear, very comfy and fits like a dream. Definitely worth the money.

Top: Topshop £26
This top was really just an impulse buy. I had been looking at it a few days before, but I didn’t consider it something I really wanted to buy. When I was exchanging my bralet, I happened to spot it again so I picked it up and bought it to the counter with me. As you can see it’s grey with a black and blue grid pattern. The material is like Jersey material; very soft, comfy and practical. It’s definitely one of the best impulse purchase I made recently and I can tell it’s been inspired by the recent trend of bold prints, textures and patterns. If you’re someone who wants to try such a trend but doesn’t want it to be too loud or in-your-face I would definitely recommend this to you. At £26, I do feel it’s quite expensive for a long sleeve crop top, though it is undeniably a cute and trendy product.

Top: Topshop £20
I love this cute top. It’s got a very retro feel to it and fits in we with the grungy/heroine chic look that has been dragged into modern day fashion from the 1990s. I think that the green in the tile pattern gives it a modern twist and adds a sprinkling of colour to it. Although it might look a bit weird hanging up, it does look very good on. It defines your shoulder bones well and adds done definition to your body instead of swamping you like some vest type tops can. The material it’s made of is bumpy and slightly rough, but it doesn’t feel like a potato sack. It’s a good feel, and it’s adds texture to an already rockin’ item of clothing.
